New Atari 2600 Games Coming

Three New Atari 2600 Games Are Coming — And Retromaniacs Is Publishing Them

Something big is happening in Houston this November.

At Houston Arcade Expo 2026, Retromaniacs will be making its debut as a game publisher — and we’re not showing up empty-handed. We’re bringing three brand-new Atari 2600 cartridges to the show, each one a love letter to the golden age of gaming, each one wildly different from the last.

A pseudo-3D shooter ripped straight from the nightmares of a martian moonbase. A shadowy dungeon crawler with procedurally generated depths and skeletons that don’t stay dead. And a parade through the streets of New Orleans where the throws are flying and the jazz never stops.

Three games. Two developers. One unforgettable show.

🎮 The Games

Doomed — Sunset Bitworks

The classic shooter comes to the classic console. As the last surviving space marine on a demon-infested martian moonbase, you’ll navigate pseudo-3D maze-like levels armed with courage, skill, and a joystick. An automap tracks your position and nearby enemies — you’ll need it. Programmed by Brock Keaghey (TheMajorHavoc) at Sunset Bitworks. Compatible with both the Atari 2600 and 7800.

Depths of Dungeon — Sunset Bitworks

Brave knight, your fate hinges on a trial by combat. Descend into shadowed catacombs and procedurally generated halls, discover weapons and provisions, upgrade your armor and sword, and find the key that unlocks the depths below. Every run is different. Death is patient. Also by Brock Keaghey at Sunset Bitworks — compatible with Atari 2600 and 7800.

Mardi Gras — Ross Adkin & Brian Matherne

Laissez les bon temps rouler! You’re at your very first Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans, daiquiri in hand, jazz in the air, floats rolling down the street. Your mission: catch as many throws as possible before the bands, the mounted police, and the flambeaux carriers get in your way. An original concept by Brian Matherne, programmed by Ross Adkin — pure arcade fun soaked in Louisiana soul.

📅 Where to Find Them

All three titles will debut at HAAG 2026 in Houston, Texas this November. If you’re attending, come find us — we’d love to put a cartridge in your hands. Physical copies will also be available through the Retromaniacs store following the show.

Stay tuned for individual spotlights on each developer as we count down to HAAG. This is just the beginning.
